22-year-old pianist Adam Golka is the winner of two of America's most prestigious pianistic awards: the 2008 Gilmore Young Artist Award and most recently the 2009 Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award of the American Pianists Association.

AUGUST to OCTOBER 2009: In the span of five weeks, Adam played the first two Beethoven concerti (Fort Worth Symphony), a Tokyo recital debut, Prokofiev's Second Concerto (Phoenix Sympony), and Rachmaninoff's Third Concerto (South Dakota Symphony). Adam performed the world premiere of Richard Danielpour's Piano Fantasy (2008), commissioned for Adam by the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival, in his recitals at the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in Chicago (July 31), Dakota Sky International Piano Festival (Aug. 3), and the Dame Myra Hess Recital Series (Aug. 5).
April 4th, 2009: Adam has been named a Classical Fellow by the American Pianists Association! After a competitive process which began with nominations and culminated in solo, chamber, lieder, and concerto performances in Indianapolis in spring 2009, Adam has received the prestigious Max I. Adam commissions the esteemed American composer Richard Danielpour as part of the Gilmore Young Artist Award. Stay tuned in coming months for more information about Adam's 2009-2010 plans for premiering the 15-minute "Fantasy for Piano," based on the final chorale from Bach's St. Matthew's Passion.
Adam makes is UK Debut this month, playing Ravel's Left Hand Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony and Donald Runnicles conducting. Learn more in the concerts section.
